Flametree is a fairly young winery established in 2007. A true testament to its quality, Flametree immediately won the prestigious Jimmy Watson Trophy for its first ever red wine, the 2007 Cabernet Merlot. It was also named “Top Ten New & Exciting Wineries” by James Halliday. Flametree is helmed by award-winning Chief Winemaker Cliff Royle who is regarded by critics as one of the most gifted winemakers of his generation.
